CURRENT ACTIVITIES
In April 2005, the Foundation, in partnership with the University of Lower Silesia AAE and of the Association for the Advancement of Education in Wroclaw, received a significant grant from the European Social Fund for the implementation of a project called PROGRESS – School for Professional Competences for Women (Sektorowy Program Operacyjny Rozwój Zasobów Ludzkich - Integracja i reintegracja zawodowa kobiet, Schemat A, Działanie 1.6). The project, which starts in August 2005 and lasts until July 2007, endeavors to assist unemployed women from the Polish region of Lower Silesia in finding jobs, planning careers and establishing private businesses. The project consist of several months of training on job searches, psychology, labor rights, women’s rights, and business and computing skills. The second element of the project includes individual career planning aimed at helping women undertake their professional careers with the aid of highly qualified consultants in the fields of psychology, law and counseling. In July 2005, the Foundation received a contribution from the Polish Ministry of National Education and Sport under the aegis of its Co-financing for International Cooperation of Children and Youth program for the Experiencing the New Europe summer institute run by the International Institute for the Study of Culture and Education ULS AAE in Wroclaw. The program brings together international and Polish undergraduates in order to study the transformation processes in East Central Europe through the lens of the social sciences. The program began in the Summer of 2005 and will be held annually.
